Europeans vote for MV Agusta as their motorcycle of the year.

The Italian motorcycle magazine ran its 6th annual competition with 22000 motorcycle news readers voting. The new MV Agusta F4 1000 Senna received 18.2% of the vote, winning the Sportive category. The MV Agusta Brutale 910S received 20.9% of the vote and won the naked category. The group also won the 125 category with its Cagiva Mito with 19.5% of the votes. The Aprilia RS125 received 18%.

The MV Agusta group said “The sheer beauty and technical attributes, not to mention the magic of this Italian sports icon, prompted 18.2% of the voters to opt for MV Agusta and pushed the Yamaha R6 and the Ducati 999R to lower positions on the podium. The “Naked” category is the most fought-over sector in the Italian market and the MV Agusta Brutale 910S was reconfirmed for the sixth time as leader with 20.9% of the votes. The Brutale was miles clear of its nearest competitors, the Moto Morini Corsaro and the Yamaha FZ1 that achieved 6.7% and 5.35% respectively.”

The voting participants were mainly male (91.9%) aged 30-39 (40.7%). 56% of participants stated that they had bought a motorcycle in the past two years and 6.3% declared they intended to replace their current machine with an MV Agusta.
